Electrical Rewiring Services

Old wiring doesn’t fail all at once. It deteriorates quietly, creating safety risks that are invisible until something goes wrong. Rhodes Electric, Inc. provides thorough rewiring assessments and complete rewiring services for homes and businesses throughout Southwest Riverside County and North San Diego County. Whether you have aluminum branch wiring from the 1970s, original cloth-wrapped wiring in an older home, or wiring that’s been compromised by pests or moisture, our licensed team will assess the scope honestly and do the work right.

We’re a licensed C-10 electrical contractor with nearly two decades of experience. Permits pulled on every job.

If your home is more than 40 years old and the wiring has never been assessed or updated, a rewiring evaluation is a reasonable step, not because older wiring automatically fails, but because knowing what you have is better than not knowing.

Our Rewiring Services

Whole-Home Rewiring

We replace all branch-circuit wiring from the panel to every outlet, switch, and fixture throughout the home. This is a significant project, typically done in coordination with other updates (panel upgrade, permit process, inspection), and results in a complete modern electrical system with a ground wire throughout.

Partial Rewiring

Not every home needs a full rewire. If specific circuits or areas of the home have wiring problems, we can address those sections without touching wiring that’s in good condition. We’ll give you an honest assessment of what needs replacing and what doesn’t.

Aluminum Wiring Remediation

Aluminum branch-circuit wiring can be addressed without a full rewire in many cases. Using approved CO/ALR devices and anti-oxidant compound at all connections, we can bring aluminum-wired homes to a safe, code-compliant condition. We’ll tell you honestly when this approach is appropriate and when a full rewire is the better path.

Rewiring for Additions & Renovations

Adding to your home or opening up walls during a remodel is an ideal time to update wiring that would otherwise be inaccessible. We coordinate with your contractor or GC to make sure electrical runs are done before walls close.

Code Compliance

Rewiring Homes with unpermitted wiring, previous DIY work, or wiring that no longer meets current NEC standards: we assess and bring systems up to code.

How the Rewiring Process Works

Assessment

We start with a thorough walk-through of the home: panel, outlets, switches, visible wiring, and attic or crawlspace if accessible. We identify what's there, what's in good shape, and what needs attention.

Scope & Quote

We give you a clear, written scope of work and a straight quote. No pressure and no upsells on work you don't need.

Permit

All rewiring work requires a permit. We pull it through the appropriate jurisdiction (City of Murrieta, City of Temecula, Riverside County, San Diego County, etc.) and manage the inspection scheduling.

The Work

Rewiring is done methodically, room by room. We work to minimize disruption to your walls and ceilings, most wiring can be fished through existing cavities without opening every surface.

Inspection & CloseOut

We schedule and pass the final inspection. You receive documentation of the completed, permitted work

Frequently Asked Questions

For a typical single-family home, a full rewire takes 3 to 5 days of work, plus the permit and inspection timeline. The inspection is typically scheduled within a few days of the work completing.
Not always, and never more than necessary. Most wiring can be fished through existing wall cavities, attic spaces, and crawlspaces. When a wall does need to be opened, we make clean, minimal cuts. We’ll tell you upfront if any areas of your home will require more invasive access.
Aluminum wiring is not automatically dangerous, but it requires proper maintenance and correct devices. The fire risk comes from connections that have loosened over time, at outlets, switches, and fixtures, not from the wire itself sitting in the wall. We’ll assess your specific situation and tell you honestly what it needs.
Not always. Using CO/ALR rated devices and anti-oxidant compound at all connections, aluminum-wired homes can often be brought to a safe, code-compliant condition without a full rewire. The right approach depends on the condition of the connections and devices throughout the home.
Many insurance carriers have surcharges or exclusions for homes with aluminum wiring, knob-and-tube, or other outdated electrical systems. Updating the wiring often improves your insurability and may reduce your premium. Check with your carrier.
