EV Charger Installation

Rhodes Electric, Inc. is a Tesla-certified EV charger installer with nearly two decades of electrical experience. Founded and led by Dillon Rhodes, we’ve become one of the most trusted EV charging installers in Southwest Riverside County, because we do the job right every time.

That means a proper load calculation before we quote, a dedicated circuit sized correctly for your charger, a pulled permit, and a passed inspection. Every installation includes a one-year workmanship warranty in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty on the equipment.

We install Level 2 chargers for all EV makes and models: Tesla, Ford, GM, Rivian, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, and more. Residential and commercial.

Why a Level 2 Home Charger?

Your EV came with a portable Level 1 charger that plugs into a standard 120V outlet. It works, slowly. Level 1 adds roughly 4 to 5 miles of range per hour, which means a depleted battery can take 24 hours or more to fully charge.

A Level 2 charger runs on a dedicated 240V circuit, the same type used by an electric dryer or range. It adds 20 to 44 miles of range per hour depending on the charger and vehicle, meaning most drivers wake up to a full charge every morning regardless of how far they drove the day before.

For most EV owners, a Level 2 home charger is not a luxury, it’s the difference between an EV that works for your lifestyle and one that requires constant planning around charging.

Chargers We Install

Tesla Wall Connector

The best charging solution for Tesla owners. The Wall Connector delivers up to 44 miles of range per hour, handles overnight charging for even low-battery situations, and keeps your charging cable stored neatly at home rather than in the car. As a Tesla-certified installer, we handle the installation, app setup, and configuration correctly.

Ford Charge Station Pro

Ford's home charging solution for F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, and other Ford EVs. The Charge Station Pro enables Ford's Intelligent Backup Power feature on the F-150 Lightning, allowing the truck to power your home during an outage. Proper installation is required to activate this feature.

ChargePoint Home Flex

Compatible with any EV on the road. ChargePoint Home Flex is adjustable from 16 to 50 amps and works with the ChargePoint app for scheduling, energy tracking, and Amazon Alexa integration. Ideal for households with multiple EVs or mixed brands.

Enphase Bidirectional EV Charger

For homeowners with Enphase solar systems, the Enphase bidirectional charger enables vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capability, your EV battery can power your home during an outage or send energy back to the grid. Requires an Enphase solar and storage system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most residential installations take a few hours. If a panel upgrade is needed first, that’s a full day. We’ll give you a realistic timeline when we quote.
Yes, all cities and counties in our service area require a permit for EV charger installation. We pull it for you. An unpermitted installation can create complications with your homeowner’s insurance and at resale.
We’ll tell you during the assessment. Options include a panel upgrade (adding capacity), a load management device (which allows the charger to share capacity with other loads intelligently), or, in some cases, a smaller charger on a 30-amp circuit. We’ll explain the tradeoffs and let you decide.
Any J1772 Level 2 charger works with a Tesla using the included adapter. The Tesla Wall Connector is the most convenient option (no adapter needed, faster charging), but it’s not required. We’ll help you choose what makes sense for your situation.
Yes, we run a circuit from the main panel to the detached garage, either through conduit above ground or underground. We’ll assess the best path when we come out.
Yes, we work with property owners and HOAs on multi-unit EV charging installations. These projects require more planning around load capacity and billing, and we’ll walk you through the considerations.
